So, I'd like to use this space to introduce myself and let you get a better idea of who I am without all the fancy selling and AI generated hoopla. Bear with me please, I type like I talk.
I'm just a little o'll country boy from Kentucky. Born and raised where I still live with my family in Pulaski County. I feel like this is one of the most important sections of the website because it helps drive home what I think separates myself from some others in my field. Which is I like to coach on a more personal level.
In My experience the clients that turn to friends and hang close by are typically much more successful than those who do not. I also know fitness coaches are a dime a dozen. There isn't much that sets a good quality coach apart from another other than personality and coaching style. That said it's important to find a good fit for yourself, so you do not waste your hard-earned money.
Okay, coaching style. I am here for lifestyle coaching. I love helping those who need me most. I get the most satisfaction from making someone have a better quality of life vs putting someone on a bodybuilding stage, although we love that here as well, it's not my driving focus. I am a bit of a softer coach. I'm not the type of coach that uses really blunt sometimes rude strategies to get you motivated. I'm a bit more compassionate for situations. We want this to be enjoyable and sustainable long term. I don't feel like it has to be boot camp. With all that said, it doesn't mean I'm not going to be honest with you and tell you what you need to hear to be successful. I just try to get my coaching across somewhat politely with feelings in mind.
On to me at a more personal level so you get to know me a bit more. Like I stated earlier, I'm a country boy. I played basketball from the time I was big enough to hold a ball and played some High School Football. I love to deer and turkey hunt as much as I love the gym. My wife of 14 years, Tiffany is also an NPC Competitor. We have three kiddos. Two boys and a baby girl. I got my first weight set when I was 12 from Walmart. It was just a plain iron Weider set with maybe 100lbs of weight and a bench. When I started with weight training the internet wasn't really a thing yet. I had to buy fitness and bodybuilding magazines to try and learn what I could.
Fast forward 20 years and you will find me overweight, unhealthy, blood pressure high, cholesterol high, depressed and an extremely nasty panic/anxiety problem. I told my wife I wanted to get back in the gym, and she said she wanted to go herself. That was the start of what I call life now. I dove back into it all headfirst wide open and developed a passion for the gym like never before. Eventually Tiffany and I discussed me going to school for personal training and coaching others for a living. I got certified with what I feel like is the most prestigious fitness program NASM. That was three years ago now.
Since being certified I have coached maybe 60 full time clients, built I don't know how many standalone meal plans and workouts for people. I have had three clients hit the 100lb loss mark which I am extremely proud of. Multiple 40 plus losses. We are quite successful at what we do.
So, if you feel like you and I are a good fit please reach out and let's get your journey started. I'll be here waiting when you are ready :-)
Matt is like my big brother and Coach. Matt has been the most influential man in my coaching and bodybuilding career. Matt and Team Edmonds are my family, so they of course deserve a spot in my story. Matt is an exceptional competitive coach. Ill link his website here if you are more interested in the competitive side of things.
